STEP 2: Educator accepts the 'Connect to your Teacher" request
You will receive an email letting you know there is a connect request pending. To approve (or deny) the pending request, please log into your educator account.
- Switch to the teacher profile
- Click your teacher avatar to access your teacher dashboard
- At the top of your student profiles, you will see the connect request waiting for your approval
- Select 'Enable'
Connected profiles with have a small green chain link icon on their avatars.
Once you approve the request, it will add the student's home profile to your class list (you will see all of their reading history that they did on their home account.) You can assign books and quizzes to the student, which they will see on their profile in their home account.
Note: If you already have a profile for a student making the connection request in your Epic! classroom, there will now be two profiles for that student in your class list. Unfortunately, we don't yet offer a way to merge the two profiles. We recommend deleting the profile you had set up for the student initially (as the home profile usually has more reading history on it). However, you can choose to keep the original profile in addition to the home profile, if you wish.
