Fantasy

Fantasy is a fiction genre set in an fictional universe, often (but not always) without any locations, events, or people from the real world. ... Most fantasy uses magic or other supernatural elements as a main plot element, theme, or setting. Magic and magical creatures are common in many of these worlds.

Realistic Fiction

 Realistic fiction is a genre consisting of stories that could have actually occurred to people or animals in a believable setting. These stories resemble real life, and fictional characters within these stories react similarly to real people.

Humour

Humourous fiction is a genre in which the main emphasis is on humor. These books are designed to make the reader laugh through amusement and most often work by exaggerating characteristics for humorous effect. Books in this style traditionally have a happy ending.

Horror / Scary

  Horror is a genre of fiction which is intended to, or has the capacity to frighten, scare, disgust, or startle its readers or viewers by inducing feelings of horror and terror.

Biography

    biography, or simply bio, is a detailed description of a person's life. It involves more than just the basic facts like education, work, relationships, and death; it portrays a person's experience of these life events.

Historical Fiction

   Historical fiction is a literary genre in which the plot takes place in a setting located in the past.

Science Fiction

 Science fiction (often shortened to SF or sci-fi) is genre of speculative fiction, typically dealing with imaginative concepts such as futuristic science and technology, space travel, time travel, faster than light travel, parallel universes, and extraterrestrial life.

Dystopian

 Dystopian literature is a genre of fictional writing used to explore social and political structures in 'a dark, nightmare world.' The term dystopia is defined as a society characterized by poverty, squalor or oppression and the theme is most commonly used in science fiction and speculative fiction genres.

Mystery

The mystery genre is a type of fiction in which a detective, or other person, solves a crime or series of crimes. It can take the form of a novel or short story. This genre may also be called detective or crime novels.

Adventure

  An adventure genre book depicts an event or series of events that happens outside the course of the protagonist's ordinary life, usually accompanied by danger, often by physical action.
